Gameloft snatches top awards

Posted by GamePart On March - 31 - 2010

It was a memorable scenario for Gameloft, a leading international publisher and developer of mobile games you can download. Though many people are not aware, and half don’t care much, Gameloft enjoyed, or rather ’suffered’ a great week.

So what exactly was the good news? Pocket Gamer Awards, an Oscar award for related game developers, awarded Best Publisher for iPhone, Best Action/Arcade Game (iPhone) for N.O.V.A. Near Orbit Vanguard Alliance, and Best Action/Arcade Game (Mobile) for Zombie Infection at the Pocket Gamer Awards 2010, to Gameloft.

It comes as a great surprise to Gameloft themselves, and in the age of iPhone entertainment, it’s rather a great news to have swept the main awards.

“We’re honored to receive this distinction from Pocket Gamer. Our success can be attributed to our development teams’ constant concern for quality on both rich and traditional mobile gaming platforms, and to our desire to offer games that are both spectacular and popular”, said Julien Fournials, senior vice-president of Production at Gameloft, on their website.

Gameloft succeeds mainly with its international appeal. With strong partnerships with the popular brands like UNO™, Ferrari, Shrek, CSI, Spider-Man and Sonic, allows Gameloft to publish and develop games that people like to play, and not just download.

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker Release Delayed

Posted by GamePart On March - 31 - 2010

Originally announced that it would be released by May 28, it was announced lately that the UK release won’t be till June 18, that’s almost a month later.

Ironically, the series developer Hideo Kojima was quoted stating that, “I always preach to the staff, ‘You must not have a delay after a release date has been announced. There is no greater crime as a game developer’.”

The first ‘proper’ handheld instalment takes place in Costa Rica during the 1970s – 10 years after the events of Metal Gear Solid 3 and in the run up to the rise of Outer Heaven. Only Metal Gear nuts will have a clue what we’re on about there.

Shinobido – The Way of The Ninja – Review

Posted by GamePart On March - 31 - 2010

Those who really want a great game, which involves several skills like stealth and merciless killing, together with less of blood and gore, can choose a lot of fun from Shinobido.

Based on a medieval Chinese set up on those waring ninja communities who keep starving for destroying their rivals, you start as The Crow of the Asuka ninjas. The Asuka were once the great clan, which was ultimately destroyed by the others. However, you as Goh (The Crow), Kinu and Zaji have survived.

You start as the amnesiac Goh, and receive letters from unknown rulers, either Ichijo, Akame or Lady Sadame. You have to chose sides. They employ you in various ways to destroy the other to gain control of Ichijo. However it is at your discretion whom to chose finally, they have their own bad and good characteristics. They will individually help you to find out your past in the form of ’soul’ fragments. You will have to gather them and ‘read’ what they tell you.

Apart from daily missions, you may face several other rival ninjas. who still have no idea of the existence of the Asuka ninja. These include the Tarabas, Kenobi and the Mosus, each led by a terrific leader. You may get to face these leaders as a reward.

Finally, the game has many outcomes. Based on your successful or failed missions, you will have to face the trust of the warring lords. After each game, upon completion, you will receive many unblocks which will help in making your newer missions more helpful and interesting. Collect items fallen on the ground or those with people who are killed, and keep your items at hand to use them during battle. You can also buy, sell or gift these items.

Together with amazing gameplay, and wonderful graphics, Shinobido is a wonderful game to play. It is great for adventurous people, and for those who love to kill, but with a reason!
